Spotlight Profile
Hello, my name is Jacquie. My father, who was a keen photographer, gave me my first camera and his love of photography almost 60 years ago, when I used to enjoy looking at “Amateur Photographer” as much as “The Beano”, and I have enjoyed taking photos ever since.
Throughout my adult life my friends have always asked to see photos taken abroad and so on because they were never quite your run-of-the-mill holiday snaps but since I joined the Barnstaple Camera Club just 16 months ago I have learnt such a lot, both from the members and from the guest judges commenting on everyone’s images, that a world of possibilities is opening up which is making photography a truly fascinating hobby.
I haven’t got loads of expensive top-of-the-range equipment and costly software. After joining the camera club I bought a Fuji HS10 which has a 24 - 720 zoom and, because I love finding interesting details hidden in the bigger picture, this camera is ideal for me. It goes in a handbag when I am out for the day and I don’t have to cart about masses of equipment which used to drive me mad before the digital age.
With so much to learn about and practice, my Fuji, together with Elements, will provide me with more than enough to be going on with for a good while yet.
Things go wrong a lot more often than they go right but I hope you will enjoy seeing where my journey has brought me so far…………….
